Webinar: Supporting Your Team's Professional Development
A VET tailored session, enabling participants to investigate different types of professional development available to teams and how to best support their learning.
Description
This introductory one-hour webinar provides VET leaders and practitioners with a practical overview of professional development approaches that support teaching quality and learner outcomes. Referencing the Standards for RTOs 2025 and the VET Practitioner Capability Framework (IBSA), the session outlines the role of VET educators as both industry specialists and teachers, and the importance of maintaining capability across both areas.
Participants will be introduced to the differences between traditional professional development and more effective, ongoing professional learning, with a focus on approaches that can be integrated into everyday practice.
The session shares practical ideas to help teams plan and support professional learning, including considering capability needs, engaging with industry, and drawing on a mix of formal and informal activities. It also highlights the importance of maintaining simple evidence of activity and reflecting on its value for both compliance and continuous improvement.
