An intermediate session that explores what GenAI is, how it works, and what has changed since the release of ChatGPT.
Description
This session builds on prior foundational knowledge by revisiting what GenAI is, how it functions, and what has evolved since the initial release of ChatGPT in November 2022. It examines more advanced developments, including reasoning-focused models, multimodal AI, and up-to-date applications such as OpenAI’s Deep Research and the implications of these advancements for AI and vocational education. Finally, it analyses the AI Assessment Scale and its application across educational sectors, with particular relevance to vocational education and training.

- What is Generative AI, and how has the technology changed since the release of ChatGPT in 2022?
- What are the implications for vocational education?
- How can we ensure that our students are learning, with or without AI?
- How can we design valid assessments that encourage appropriate use of the technology, while discouraging misuse?

- An understanding of appropriate use and misuse of AI, and how to design assessments accordingly

Audience
This program is for training providers with a a current VET Funding Contract and VET teachers, trainers, assessors and managers / Supervisors, managers and team leaders.
