This topic will be centred around the knowledge and skills needed to develop comprehensive Training and Assessment Strategies that meet the 2024 VET Funding Contract.
Description
The Victorian Skills Authority (VSA) funds VDC to deliver free workforce development training to improve the knowledge, skills and practice of VET teachers, trainers and assessors, and strengthen the learning environment, experience and outcomes for all VET learners.
The 2024-25 VET Funding Contract requires training providers to develop a Training and Assessment Strategy (TAS) for each course and for each cohort within a particular course. This topic will be centred around the knowledge and skills needed to develop comprehensive Training and Assessment Strategies that meet the 2024-25 VET Funding Contract.
Learning Outcomes
- Contract requirements relating to training and assessment strategies (TAS)
- Exploring what underpins an effective TAS
a. Understanding the needs of your learner cohort
b. Adjusting the delivery mode – a student centred approach
c. How to calculate volume of learning and amount of training
3. Documenting the TAS and embedding continuous improvement.
Audience
This program is for training providers with a Skills First contract and is aligned to the following domains and related capabilities/learning outcomes as prescribed in the VET Practitioner Capability Framework (IBSA 2013): Teaching | Assessment | Systems & Compliance
Participants will also ideally have a basic understanding of the current 2024-25 VET Funding Contract
