Creating Supportive Learning Environments is part of the 'Professional Learning Series for Learn Local' which has been designed as an interactive virtual workshop. This session will draw on educational theory and the ACFE Professional Practice and Recognition Framework for the Learn Local workforce to promote reflective practice.
Description
The Victorian Skills Authority (VSA) funds the VET Development Centre (VDC) to deliver workforce development training to improve the knowledge, skills and practice of ACFE Learn Local Providers, VET teachers, trainers and assessors, and strengthen the learning environment, experience and outcomes for all learners.
Creating Supportive Learning Environments is part of the 'Professional Learning Series for Learn Local' which has been designed as an interactive virtual workshop. This workshop will draw on educational theory and the ACFE Professional Practice and Recognition Framework for the Learn Local workforce to promote reflective practice and explores different measures of engagement with learners.
These are specific professional learning programs for the Victorian Government funded vocational education sector in priority areas, as a response to the Government’s commitment to quality training outcomes.
Topics covered include
- Promote inclusive attitudes and approaches
- Manage challenging learner behaviour to promote positive learning experiences
- Learner connectedness
- Facilitation strategies for diverse learners and contexts
- Vulnerable learners, neurodiversity, learning disorders/trauma, reasonable adjustments, safe learning environment, self-care/stress, anxiety.
Learning Outcomes
- Develop and implement models for learner connectedness
- Demonstrate a range of facilitation strategies to respond to diverse learner groups and contexts.
This workshop is designed for ACFE Learn Locals and is aligned to the following domains and related capabilities/learning outcomes as prescribed in the VET Practitioner Capability Framework (IBSA 2013): Teaching | Assessment | Systems & Compliance.
The workshop also references domains from the ACFE Professional Practice and Recognition Framework For the Learn Local workforce.
