The Victorian Skills Authority (VSA) funds VDC to deliver free workforce development training to improve the knowledge, skills and practice of VET teachers, trainers and assessors, and strengthen the learning environment, experience and outcomes for all VET learners.
Training providers delivering Victorian Skills First funded training are required to provide training that is right for students. This engaging topic unpacks the contractual obligations with an emphasis on Pre-Training Reviews (PTRs) and how this directly influences the training plan to support quality delivery.
Topics covered include:
- Understand the 2024-25 VET Funding Contract with respect to suitable and appropriate training.
- Suitable training – ensuring every student is enrolled in a suitable course through a high-quality Pre-training Review.
- Appropriate training – delivering training that takes into account the needs of the individual
- Ensuring your Pre-training Review Business process meets contractual requirements.
Audience
This program is for training providers with a Skills First contract and is aligned to the following domains and related capabilities/learning outcomes as prescribed in the VET Practitioner Capability Framework (IBSA 2013): Teaching | Assessment | Systems & Compliance
Participants will also ideally have a basic understanding of the current 2024-25 VET Funding Contract.
