In Person Workshop: Delivery & Assessment in VET
This session will draw on educational theory and VET policy to promote reflective practice and build advanced training and assessment skills by applying assessment principles and strategies, and familiarisation with the elements of VET content.
Description
The Victorian Skills Authority (VSA) provides funding to the VET Development Centre (VDC) to deliver workforce development training to improve the knowledge, skills and practice of VET teachers, trainers and assessors, and strengthen the learning environment, experience and outcomes for all VET learners.
The VET Teaching Theory workshop, Delivery and Assessments in VET, has been designed as interactive in-person workshop. This session will draw on educational theory and VET policy to promote reflective practice and build advanced training and assessment skills.
Objectives:
- Be familiar with the elements of VET content
- Apply assessment principles and strategies
These are specific professional learning programs for the Victorian Government funded vocational education sector in priority areas, as a response to the Government’s commitment to quality training outcomes.

- Understand VET standards and relevant legislation
- Ensure compliance in own work practices
- Demonstrate understanding of assessment principles and rules of evidence
Audience
This workshop is designed for Skills First teachers (trainers and assessors) with a Skills First 2023 VET Funding Contract and is aligned to the following domains and related capabilities/learning outcomes as prescribed in the VET Practitioner Capability Framework (IBSA 2013): Teaching | Assessment
Level - Introductory (New to the topic): This workshop is aimed at practitioners that have a broad theoretical knowledge and practical experience of training and assessment.
