Teaching Vulnerable Learners - Journey to Success Professional Learning series is designed exclusively for Learn Local Educators to improve their capability and understanding of vulnerable learner groups and supportive teaching environments.
This virtual workshop uses a blended delivery approach based on the model, 'plan/act/reflect'.
This Professional Learning series begins with Teaching Strategies to Improve Learning, which enables participants to:
- Demonstrate a range of facilitation strategies to respond to diverse learner groups and contexts
- Develop and implement models for learner connectedness
Teaching Strategies to Improve Learning includes two x two-hour sessions, both online with ample participant facilitated interaction. Each session is one week apart with self-paced learning activities in between.
Registrants need to attend both online sessions and allow time to complete the activities prior to each session.

- To build educators capabilities in learner centred teaching and learning
- To help educators prepare pre-accredited learners to pathway to accredited programs
Audience
This program is for educators delivering pre-accredited vocational education programs in Learn Local providers to ensure all their students succeed and progress to further study and/or work. It is aligned to the following domains and related capabilities/learning outcomes as prescribed in the VET Practitioner Capability Framework (IBSA 2013): Teaching | Assessment | Systems & Compliance
Level - Introductory (new to the topic): This session is aimed at practitioners that have a broad theoretical knowledge and practical experience of training and assessment.
