The VET Development Centre is pleased to invite you to the 2024 World Teachers’ Day Webinar on Friday 25 October, a free 45-minute event delivered online, that supports the outstanding achievements of educators and trainers in the VET sector. This year's event will feature Pacific Education and Partnerships Specialist Artila Devi and Occupational Therapist and Managing Director of Abraham OT Services (AOTS), Vicki Abraham as we focus on the theme of Celebrating Small Successes.
It's important to appreciate the small achievements. This event will encourage participants to reflect on recent successes and consider how you can celebrate them, whether through personal acknowledgment or by highlighting the achievements of others. By embracing these moments, we cultivate a more fulfilling and supportive environment for both ourselves and our learners.
This session will run twice, 12:30pm – 1:15pm AEDT and repeated 3:30pm – 4:15pm AEDT.

Presented by
Artila Devi is a Pacific Education and Partnerships Specialist with over 18 years of expertise in higher education, TVET and secondary education sectors. Currently serving as an education specialist consultant for a regional TVET program, Artila has dedicated her career to systems-oriented approaches that promote access to education, training and development.
On this Teachers Day, Artila is honoured to speak about the transformative power of celebrating small successes, and, to celebrate and acknowledge the vital role VET trainers play in shaping the future. She invites everyone to celebrate the dedication, creativity, and passion that trainers bring every day.
Vicki Abraham is an Occupational Therapist by trade and is the Managing Director of Abraham OT Services (AOTS). Vicki’s vision has always been to continually evaluate community needs and for her practice to provide timely and evidence-based services to her clients so they can live their best life no matter their disability.
Vicki’s vision continues to be driven by wanting to assist her clients to be able to live their best lives, support them to strive further than they imagined and to provide a fun environment to build their confidence with tasks everyone else takes for granted.
Mr Martin Powell commenced as the CEO at the VET Development Centre (VDC) in January 2016. Since this time, Martin has driven innovation and change at the VDC to support its goal to become a centre of excellence for continuous professional learning to the VET workforce.
The VDC Board has acknowledged the vision and considerable effort of Martin, who developed the business case and rationale for the establishment of the VDC permanent training facilities in Collins Street Melbourne. This initiative has enabled the VDC to expand its professional learning programs and consolidate its market presence to enable record participation. Martin has also refined the VDC team and streamlined business, marketing and corporate practices to enhance and stimulate engagement with the VDC by the professional workforce, government and other stakeholders.
