Webinar: Cultural Awareness & Teaching Strategies
Join Jillian for an interactive webinar where she provides guidance on strengthening culturally responsive teaching practices and the meaningful inclusion of Indigenous perspectives.
Description
This professional development webinar supports RTOs and education providers in strengthening culturally responsive teaching practice and the meaningful inclusion of Indigenous perspectives.
Presented by Jillian West, who brings extensive experience working with educators and organisations to embed Indigenous perspectives in respectful and practical ways, the session explores Both Ways approaches to teaching and learning. These approaches acknowledge and value Aboriginal ways of knowing, being and learning alongside Western knowledge systems.
Through practical examples and guided discussion, participants will examine how culture, community and relationships influence learning, and how culturally safe learning environments can be created to respect diverse learner needs. The webinar highlights how educators and leaders can meaningfully incorporate Indigenous perspectives into their training practice, supporting inclusive, learner-centered delivery.
This session aligns with expectations for ongoing professional development for trainers and assessors, supports continuous improvement of training and assessment practice, and contributes to educator capability, inclusive practice and quality teaching outcomes.
