This session explores neurodivergence in VET, with a focus on dyslexia and co-occurring conditions such as ADHD and anxiety. Participants will learn strategies to reduce overwhelm, support dyslexic and neurodivergent learners, and promote wellbeing. They will gain practical tools to foster inclusive classrooms, recognise mental health impacts, and connect students with support.

- Understand what neurodivergence and the key common challenges neurodivergent students face in VET
- Learn strategies to reduce feelings of overwhelm and cognitive overload in both classroom
- Identify ways that students can look after their mental health and wellbeing while studying and working.
- Know students rights and where they can access support in and out of VET.

- Understand what neurodivergence is, how it impacts learning in VET and how they co-occur.
- ADHD, anxiety, and other conditions.
- Recognise the mental health implications of unrecognised or unsupported dyslexia.
- Apply 3–5 practical strategies in their teaching to support all learners, with a focus on dyslexic students.
- Identify where and how to connect students to appropriate supports.
