Thought Leadership Series: Embedding Inclusive Practice in Everyday Training
This session examines how inclusive practice can be embedded into everyday training rather than added on. It challenges learner‑led adaptation, explores inclusion in design and delivery, and prompts reflection on who is adapting. Participants identify superficial practices and make small, practical shifts to improve engagement, equity, and learner success.
Description
Inclusive practice is often positioned as something additional to training and assessment, rather than something embedded within it. As a result, many systems continue to rely on learners to adapt, rather than adapting to meet learner needs.
This session explores what it means to embed inclusive practice in everyday training, moving beyond intention and into observable practice. It focuses on how inclusion is reflected in the design of learning, the decisions made in delivery, and the overall learner experience.
Rather than providing a checklist of strategies, the session challenges participants to reflect on a critical question: who is doing the adapting? Participants will be supported to identify where inclusive practice may be superficial, and where small, practical shifts can improve learner engagement and success.
